Rather than bringing these downhome musicians into antiseptic studios, Hannes Folterbauer travelled around Como with a microphone to record, direct to tape, the acts he came across. Raw, ragged and real, these 19 tracks, from six different guitarists, captures country blues in its native environment. The CD full of real feelings starts its clock in 1965, with none other than Fred McDowells genius with a sawed-off bottleneck and six strings before proceeding to celebrate the sound from the town in Panola County.
