After years working behind the scenes with some of the music industry’s biggest names — including Prince, Earth, Wind & Fire, Lenny Kravitz and Pharrell Williams — Cal Harris Jr. stepped into the spotlight to pursue his own artistic vision. His debut release Inside Out introduced audiences to his sophisticated blend of contemporary jazz and soulful grooves, while 2015’s Shelter Island established him as a rising force on the smooth jazz scene, producing four chart-topping singles including the Top 10 hit Smooth featuring Elan Trotman and the title track Shelter Island featuring Euge Groove. Continuing that momentum, Harris delivered the acclaimed single Soulful, the first of two releases to reach #1 on the Groove Jazz Music charts, alongside Timeline, which climbed to #2 on Billboard and topped numerous contemporary jazz charts worldwide. Showcasing a stellar lineup of musicians including Jeff Lorber, Ted Belledin, Mel Brown and guitarist Blake Aaron, Soulful highlights Cal Harris Jr.’s signature combination of polished musicianship, infectious rhythm and modern jazz sophistication.
