Having already released two studio albums and performed countless concerts, B3 presents their first live recording with Get Up! Live at the A-Trane. Captured at one of Germany’s most renowned jazz clubs, the album showcases the band’s playful energy and virtuosity as they fuse jazz, rock, funk, and blues, performing almost exclusively new compositions. This makes the record not a typical live album, but a unique snapshot of previously unreleased material, appealing to both jazz and rock audiences. At the core of the quartet are keyboardist, composer, and producer Andreas Hommelsheim and guitarist and singer Ron Spielman, both of whom have contributed to the music scene in far-reaching ways. Hommelsheim has performed with artists such as Alphonse Mouzon, John Lee, and Gerry Brown, shared the stage with Kool & the Gang, and worked with stars including Nena, Nina Hagen, and Jan Delay. As an award-winning musical director, he contributed to numerous German versions of major films, collaborating with legends like Andrew Lloyd Webber and Hans Zimmer, and earned a Gold Record as producer of the German soundtrack for The Lion King. Complementing him, Spielman delivers electrifying guitar work and a powerful voice, combining virtuosic playing with masterful songwriting that has earned him decades of devoted fans.
